The era of cheap plastic smartphones might soon be over, At least as far as Samsung is concerned. Rumour has it that there is information to prove that Samsung is indeed working on a C series line of smartphones. and all we know now is that the launch date may be set for the May.
The Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 should be leading the charge, and at least the former is currently under development with a 5.2-inch display.  Today, more specs of the C5 have been revealed thanks to the Geekbench benchmark website. And also according to the SamMobile website, we have learned that the C series devices will feature thin metallic bodies, not unlike the Galaxy A8.

The Galaxy C5 (SM-C5000) is listed with 4GB of RAM and the octa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC (clocked at 1.5GHz). The operating system is Android 6.0.1, which is what we expect on every new device that Samsung launches in the future.

A premium design seems to be a heavy focus for Samsung this year, as even the new Galaxy J (2016) devices have a bit of metal in their construction. The Galaxy C series is expected to launch in May as an exclusive for the Chinese market. Hopefully, the exclusivity will not be permanent, as with the right pricing the Galaxy C lineup could fit in nicely between Samsung’s budget offerings and the high-end Galaxy A handsets.
