On Friday, the anti corruption court summoned Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine and Dan Mbuga to testify as prosecution witnesses against Uganda Red Cross Society secretary general, Michael Nataka, who is charged with abuse of office.
The summons were prompted by Carol Tabaro, who told court that the duo had failed to turn up to testify against Nataka. Nataka is currently on bail, was charged with tow counts of abuse of office. It is alleged that he allowed the importation of a motor vehicle, Toyota Tundra ( the one Bobi Wine drives currently), belonging to an individual in the same container transporting consignment belonging to URCS, thereby trying to benefit from the favorable freight from the considerations that URCS enjoys, contrary to the society’s principles.
The case has been adjourned to 17th October for further hearing.
