Ugandan long distance runner Jacob Kiplimo excited Ugandans as he took lead in the world cross country mens 8km race that took place at kololo airstrip on yesterday.

The 16 year old won a gold medal  in the third race that comprised of various runners from all over the world.At the age of 15 he won bronze at the 2016 IAAF world U20 championship behind fellow east African Rogers Kemutai and Aron Kifle.He won at an incredible time of 13:24:30 minutes for the 5000 meters in Rome that May.That was enough to reach the Olympics standard and gain selection for the 2016 summer Olympics.As a result hes become the youngest Olympian for Uganda.Congratulations golden boy,we hope you keep up the pace and not walk down the road of your predecessors.
